The Texas hold ‘em craze, the most popular poker game in the casinos and poker card rooms across North America and Europe, has caught fire in the Philippines and is continuously working its way into the mainstream.

Hold ‘em is a community card game where each player may use any combination of the five community cards and the player’s own two hole cards to make a poker hand, in contrast to poker variants like stud or draw where each player holds a separate individual hand.

Poker is usually played at home with friends or in online gaming sites such as yahoo, pokerstars, and partypoker. There are also Hold’em games in all prominent casinos around the country, but the real live poker action with a wide range of enthusiasts is in the card clubs.
